The monthly fee covers all internal corporate advisory services including phone responses, email replies, and document review. Litigation, third-party opinion letters, and project-based work are billed separately — with a plan discount applied.

Unused service hours in a given month are carried over and added to the following month's allocation — for up to two consecutive months (Standard and Premium plans).

Questions

Everything you need to know about how our corporate counselling retainer works. 

How can I use my service hours?


Your allocated hours can be used flexibly across any combination of services. For example, with the Basic plan (2 hours/month), you might use 1 hour for document drafting, 30 minutes for a phone consultation, and 30 minutes for email review. Direct meetings with your attorney are also available when needed.

When and how is billing handled?


The monthly retainer fee is invoiced on the 1st of the following month. Tax invoices and cash receipts are available upon request.

How does the carryover policy work?


For Standard and Premium plan clients, unused hours are automatically carried over and added to the following month's allocation — for up to two months. For example, if you use only 3 of your 10 monthly hours, the remaining 7 hours roll over, giving you up to 17 hours the following month.

What is included in the monthly fee vs. billed separately?


The monthly retainer covers all internal corporate advisory work:

  • Phone consultations and email responses
  • Document and contract review
  • Internal memos and general guidance

The following are billed separately (with a plan discount applied):

  • Civil and criminal litigation representation
  • Third-party legal opinion letters
  • Business travel and on-site visits
  • Major project-based work

Can I switch plans or cancel?


Yes. Plans can be adjusted based on your company's evolving needs. Please contact us directly to discuss plan changes, upgrades, or cancellations — we will work out the most practical arrangement for your situation.
